Freelance Creative Producer/Project Manager (Sligo)
About the Role
We are looking for a creative, organised and people-focused individual to help lead the delivery of two ambitious community storytelling and heritage programmes across County Sligo.
This role sits at the intersection of community engagement, creative production, heritage, storytelling and project delivery. Working alongside Icecream Architecture, local partners and participants, you will help shape and deliver experiences that bring people together, build relationships and create meaningful outputs.
The role would suit someone who enjoys working with communities, facilitating conversations, making things happen and helping people turn ideas into reality. You might come from a background in community arts, heritage, event production, education, cultural programming, design, youth work, social research, community development or a related field.
We are open to different professional backgrounds and value transferable experience as much as formal qualifications.
Core Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support the delivery of community-based workshops, events and creative activities across County Sligo.
- Build positive relationships with participants, community groups, project partners and stakeholders.
- Support participant recruitment, communications and ongoing engagement.
- Work with facilitators, artists, creatives and community partners to co-design and deliver programme activities.
- Facilitate workshops, discussions and creative sessions where appropriate.
- Help create welcoming, inclusive and accessible environments for participation.
- Manage project schedules, logistics, budgets and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate venues, suppliers, travel arrangements and event delivery.
- Collect monitoring and evaluation information and support funder reporting.
- Contribute ideas and creative approaches that strengthen participant experiences and project outcomes.

Working Arrangements
- Freelance / self-employed contract. Initial 6 months with option to extend.
- Remote and self-directed working.
- Regular travel throughout County Sligo.
- Attendance at workshops, events and community sessions during weekdays and evenings.
- Very occasional weekend working.
- Travel expenses paid.
- Reporting to Desmond Bernie, Project Director, Icecream Architecture.
Remuneration: in the region of €35k - €42k FTE dependent on experience
Timescale: Starting Jul 2026, initially for a 6-month contract with opportunity to continue until Dec 2027.
Hours per week: flexible hours, circa 0.4 - 0.6 FTE working freelance (2-3 days per week).
Location: Across Co. Sligo
Remote and self-led working with travel to deliver events and community sessions, weekdays and evenings, and very occasionally on weekends. Travel Expenses paid.
