The River Park Programme, led by the Green Action Trust, is a four-year initiative to establish an accessible, attractive and biodiverse public park in the heart of the Levenmouth Communities in Fife. Community engagement, heritage and empowerment are central themes within the project.
icecream architecture co-designed and developed the River Park Community Engagement Plan with local groups and stakeholders to maximise community involvement and empowerment through the delivery phase of the River Park Project.
Produced during the development phase of the project, the plan outlines groups, businesses and individuals to engage during the delivery phase, their capacity for project delivery, resources or training needed, and projects identified through engagement which would maximise the benefit of the River Park initiative over the long-term.
The Plan supported the Green Action Trust's funding bid which secured nearly £3 million in National Lottery Heritage Fund support and a £850,000 grant through the Levenmouth Reconnected Programme’s Large Grant Scheme.

Through attending local group meetings, steering group discussions, community events, co-hosting creative workshops, and through digital consultation, ice cream architecture identified interests, capacities and goals for organisations and individuals to create a report that accommodates all groups in the community.
The plan outlines which local groups are interested in being involved in the delivery and maintenance of the future River Park, what their capacity is, and what resources they might need to be involved and maximise their benefit from the River Park Project. It also identified and suggested projects that the community expressed would be particularly beneficial to the local area.
The plan reflects the community's unique needs and aspirations for their area, to maximise the local benefit of a park that will be a valuable asset to the people of Levenmouth.
