WALKCYCLE4AIR - Walking & Cycling in Lanarkshire (hereafter referred to as 'the App’) is a free mobile app detailing 13 walking/cycling routes around Strathclyde Country Park, Lanarkshire, Scotland. Using GPS, the App guides you along the route and highlights points of historical and natural interest. In addition, the App provides information about bike maintenance, local walking groups, activities and events in Strathclyde Park and air quality in Lanarkshire.
Use of the App constitutes your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions, taking effect on your first use. icecream architecture (hereafter referred to as ICA), North Lanarkshire Council (hereafter referred to as NLC) and South Lanarkshire Council (hereafter referred to as SLC) reserve the right to change these terms and conditions at any time by posting changes online. You are responsible for regularly viewing information posted online to obtain timely notice of such changes. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of this agreement as modified by the posted changes.

A. User of the App
Who can use the App?
Anyone over the age of 16 can use the App freely. Anyone under the age of 16 requires consent of a parent/guardian.
The App can be used on both iOS and Android mobile devices. Users will need to provide their own mobile devices for the use of this App. Users are fully responsible for any loss, damage or theft to their own mobile device as a result of using this App. Users are advised to fully charge their own mobile device before using the use the App to explore the trail.
The App requires an internet connection to operate (such as Wi-Fi or mobile data). It is the responsibility of the user to find this connection. This App is made available to you free of charge for use on your mobile device. You may be charged rates or fees by wireless or telephone carriers or other parties unconnected to ICA, NLC and SLC for the download and use of the App.
ICA, NLC and SLC commit to updating and monitoring the App and its functionality. However, users are fully responsible for updates and storage management on their own mobile devices.

This App contains hyperlinks to external web-pages that provide related information. Where these hyperlinks to third party websites are provided, ICA, NLC and SLC makes no claims regarding the suitability or otherwise of such websites, or guarantee that they are free of viruses, Trojans or other malicious software or malware. Should you have any queries, concerns or complaints regarding a third party website, please direct your query, concern or complaint to that third party.
B. Responsible & Legal Use
You are encouraged to use the App on your mobile device whilst stationary and to take note of your movement and surroundings whilst browsing the App on your mobile device. ICA, NLC and SLC are not responsible for your physical safety whilst using this App.
This is an app designed for use alongside walking and cycling. Users must however take responsibility for their own physical health. Please consult your health care provider if you have, or suspect you have a health problem before undertaking any of the routes.
ICA, NLC and SLC are not responsible for external factors which might be encountered on the walking/cycling routes, such as people or physical obstacles. Please note the route uses public rights of way and core path networks.
You may not use this app for any unlawful purposes or in furtherance of illegal activities. By using the App, you agree to comply with all applicable UK laws governing your online conduct and content.
Spam and Security
We strive to protect all users of the App from technical abuse and spam. You may not attempt to access, tamper with or use non-public areas of the App or it’s computer systems. In addition, you may not probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system or network used by the App, or breach/circumvent any security or authentication measures incorporated by the App.
C. Intellectual Property
Copyright of App
We will respond to clear and complete notices of alleged copyright infringement. All rights to the App content and design including the graphic layout, maps, symbols, logos and software code used within this app are reserved to ICA, NLC and SLC. Reproduction of any part of the App without the express permission of ICA is illegal unless otherwise indicated.
Copyright of content provided by 3rd parties
The images and videos contained in the App are owned by or licensed for use by ICA, NLC and SLC. Therefore, no images should be reproduced without appropriate permissions.
All of the textual content contained within the App has been provided by NLC and SLC and is accurate to the best of their knowledge.
NLC and SLC reserve the right to edit and add textual or image content to the App and retain sole management of this function.
At first use, the App requests user’s permission to access their location using GPS geolocation systems. Geolocation information is used solely by the App to display the users location on a map in relation to walking/cycling routes. Should the user decline to grant permission, their location will not be displayed but the App will continue to function correctly.
No geolocation data is retained by ICA, NLC or SLC.
Besides the above use of geolocation data, no personal data is collected or rendered visible through use of the App. For example, no names or contact details can be retrieved as a result of using the App.
